Drawing (1) is a design for a sundial with lettering at Chartwell, Sir Winston Churchill's house. The sundial was commissioned by Clementine Churchill and this sketch is in her hand. The design consists of concentric squares with an inscription integral to design. On stationery of "Chartwell, Westerham, Kent, " drawing (2) is a measured drawing of the design in drawing (1). Drawing (3) is a drawing of the design in drawing (1) on graph paper with inscription integral to design.
